The HCG Diaries; My Journey on Becoming Skinty!: Healthy Breakfast for Everyone!

The HCG Diaries; My Journey on Becoming Skinty!: Healthy Breakfast for Everyone!: Healthy breakfast is so important, simply because it's the most important meal of the day. Eating right is what makes you feel good and...

Best Way to Lose Weight is More Than Just a Diet Trend!

The best way to lose weight has been argued for centuries, although I would have to admit that in earlier times people ate better and lived longer. Why? They didn't have fast food and most individuals lived off of their own land.

In a a day an age when there is a fast food joint on nearly every corner, and most folks live in the city, how can you really eat better? If you truly don't grow any of your own food at how, how do you know what you are buying is good enough for you and your family?

Although I've talked about the best way to lose weight before, I want to talk about this again, and how you can have success while coming up with a viable solution that you and your whole family can follow.

Best Way to Lose Weight is by Starting Small

Losing weight is something that American has been talking about for years, not to mention that number of books, videos, and training offers that are out there today.

Whether or not you choose to join a gym is up to you, but really, weight loss starts in your kitchen. This is truly about getting better overall nutrition on a daily basis with the use of:
  • Organic foods versus processed
  • Use of organic vitamins and vegetarian capsules
  • Putting the focus on nutrient rich foods, whether fruits or vegetables

These small changes will equal big results now and long term. It's the long term results that you are looking for and the only way to have SUCCESS is to be consistent. This means that you should probably:
  1. Talk to your doctor before you embark on a diet of any kind
  2. Chart what you eat and drink daily
  3. Find an accountability partner
  4. Write down your goals

When you do this, you'll find it easier to do, and you'll be on cloud nine once you have achieved your goals. It's all about making small changes as I mention above first, and by charting and tracking everything, along with an accountability partner.

Some of you will be just fine on your own, but if you feel you need some added help, there is no harm in finding an accountability partner for your journey. It's honorable to share what you are doing with someone, and then asking them to be with you along the way so that your entire journey is transparent!

Make sense?

Eating Healthy and Focusing on Positive Thinking is the Best Way to Lose Weight

Eating healthy at every meal is important, but it is important that you don't skip your breakfast. The first meal of the day is just like a positive thought, as it will set the tone for the rest of your day.

If you eat a healthy breakfast and you load up with healthy proteins, then you'll be just fine on your journey for the day, and you'll find that you'll naturally eat less, no fat burners needed!

Healthy Breakfast for Everyone!

Healthy breakfast is so important, simply because it's the most important meal of the day. Eating right is what makes you feel good and helps you to lose weight that you didn't think you would be able to lose otherwise.

It's important that you eat right for not just losing weight, but maintaining a healthy weight and for giving your body the fuel it needs to function properly.

There are tons of healthy breakfast recipes that you can enjoy along with the rest of your family, even if they are super picky about what they like to eat!

Healthy Breakfast Even with Pancakes!

Did you know that you can eat a healthy breakfast even if it includes pancakes? Yes, you can. It just means that you use gluten free when available, and you may want to opt for pancakes that fall under the vegetarian category.

This means that you can easily replace regular milk with almond milk, include rolled oats into your flour, and you can use cinnamon, nutmeg, and any other spices you can think of to change the way your pancakes taste. Who said eating healthy has to be bland?

It doesn't have to be, but you simply need to focus on eating right, and making your food flavorful when changing your lifestyle to reflect healthy eating at all times.

Here is a great pancake recipe that was found in Fitness Magazine.

"Vegan Banana-Oatmeal Pancakes"
(Adapted from Fitness Magazine Oct 2012)
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk (or non-dairy milk of your preference)
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 ripe bananas chopped
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 Tsbp., plus 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg
Here are the instructions:
Instructions:
  1. In a blender, puree almond milk & oats until smooth. Add bananas, flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, & nutmeg & puree for a few seconds more. Allow the batter to rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a large non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Mist with non-stick cooking spray. Scoop batter onto pan in 1/4 cup increments. Reduce pan to medium-low & cook pancakes until air bubbles appear & the underside is golden brown, about 3 to 5 minutes. Flip & cook 3-5 minutes more.
  3. Top with sliced bananas & maple syrup.
***Makes 10 small pancakes.
If you are in the mood, why not add some other combinations of dried fruit and even coconut or goat's milk butter to keep the bad fats down and the good fats up? There are plenty of ways to enjoy a healthy breakfast, thanks to this recipe in Fitness Magazine!

Healthy Snacks for the Whole Family

Healthy snacks are not always easy to put together for your family, especially if you are in a hurry. While summer time is here and your children are out of school, you'll have to think about what you can take with you on the go while you are at home or traveling on summer vacation.

What is so easy that you can put it into a small Ziploc baggie and be on your merry way? What about foods that you can eat while you are at home, but you want simple recipes that you can put together within just a few minutes?

I am going to share with you some healthy snacks that I enjoy, and that I learned to eat often in the quest to maintain good health, even if I just wanted to enjoy something in between meals. I am sure that these are all snacks you'll enjoy!

Healthy Snacks that You Can Grab and Go!

During the summer vacation, you may spend time at the pool, the recreation center, the parks, or even headed out on vacation. If you are on a road trip, it's easier to choose those healthy snacks that you really want at all times.

  1. So, why not choose things like:
  2. Soy Nuts in a Ziploc bag-they are low in fat and calories too!
  3. Red Delicious or Granny Smith apples-full of flavor and vitamin C
  4. Sunflower seeds or cashews-contain good fats and full of fiber

These are just some ideas for the snacks that are easiest to take with you. so that you won't have to think too much about preparation time or how to store them. Doesn't that make your life easier?

More Healthy Snacks that Don't Need Refrigeration

The last thing you want to think about is lugging a cooler around, which means you'll want some ideas for snacks that you can once again grab and put into a baggie, but those that don't necessarily require a cooler or refrigeration.

You can buy a bag of trail mix, and there are several types available to choose from. Try to read all labels before you buy as many of them are packed with sugar! Choose whole foods at all times or when possible, and take items along like natural popcorn without tons of added butter and other toppings.

I hope that these tips were helpful when planning your summer with or without the children! Be sure to check back for more tips on nutrition and healthy snacks

Best Way to Lose Weight!

What is the best way to lose weight? Truthfully, it's not a FAD diet, and no it's not what you hear about in Hollywood. I can assure you there is plenty of nip and tuck! However, the only true way to heal the body and start shedding fat and pounds is to cleanse the body and eat truly healthy foods.

While many of you reading this have tried just about everything in the book, you are all different so don't forget that. However, the one thing we can all do is make sure our bodies get the necessary nutrients it needs to shed fat and burn calories.

So, is there really a best way to lose weight? There is, and I am going to share with you what you need, what you can eat, and the nutrients your body needs to turn into a living, breathing, example of health and light!

Best Way to Lose Weight is in Your Kitchen!

Just in case you didn't know, the best way to lose weight is actually right under your nose. It's what is in your kitchen. Unfortunately, the American diet is void of nutrients and our diet consists of mostly fast food!

Having said that, it's time for us to really focus on what we are eating every day at every meal. For example, an Egg McMuffin from McDonald's isn't healthy for you at all, and it's loaded with fat and sodium. Now that they have an egg white breakfast sandwich, thousands are rushing to the fast food joint to claim they have a healthier selection.

Is that really true?

The selection really isn't any healthier, in fact those of you that want to shed weight, and carry it in your middle section, rear end, and thighs, should be eating grains at all. That Egg White Delight contains the following:

  1. Grilled egg whites
  2. Canadian bacon
  3. White cheddar
  4. Toasted English Muffin
  5. 250 calories
  6. 18 grams of protein
  7. 7 grams of fat
  8. 32 grams of carbs
  9. and a whopping 800 milligrams of sodium!

I mean, are you ready to pass out yet and get a triple bypass? This is just the beginning, but be careful of what you put into the body! Those muffins are so addictive and dangerous!

The sad part is, plenty of Americans are moving to these, but missing the whole point of getting in ample exercise! Can you see the irony of all of this? It's time for you to really wake up and smell the coffee, and skip that breakfast sandwish lol!

So, what can you do to change your life for the better?

Best Way to Lose Weight is Better General Nutrition

Okay, so the bottom line is you can't just buy vitamins in a bottle, or even do injections and eat whatever you want. It doesn't work like that!

However, you can make small changes, or just go to the no sugar no starch and the weight will just fall right off of you. You need high quality vitamin B if you are struggling with energy, and yes you can find it here. You also need other high quality nutrition which you can find when you click on the banner!

Female Bodybuilding Dilemma We Face Today

Sorry I've been on hiatus, and I can't say I blame you if you have been researching other blogs about female bodybuilding. Although I admit, it's a curious thing. It's curious from the standpoint that not only do women struggle with their self image, but let's face it, women get beat up daily on how they look.

I mean, men can throw on jeans and a t-shirt, and just look sexy, but for us gals, it's hair, makeup, clothes, the style, the look, the attitude, everything.

I enjoy being me, but it took me a loooong time to get to this place. I had to work on my insides if you know what I mean, but that doesn't change the fact that we need to take care of our body. Right? This is why female bodybuilding is still a hot topic for me, and between me and some girlfriends of mine.

I would like to just start a discussion here for all women on how they feel about themselves physically, where they are now, and how all of us can come together to change this position of insecurity, and self criticism. Life is beautiful and so are you, and so, it's time for you my friend to step into your greatness!

Why Female Bodybuilding Has Been a Hot Topic

Okay, so bodybuilding isn't really for everyone, but I am talking about how most folks define female bodybuilding. We should all be building our bodies, but it all starts with good nutrition, not a fad diet.

If you have been reading this blog, you know I support the HCG diet, and that is true. However, I don't think everyone should do it. It is a great way for the body to detoxify, and it's the best way to reset the hypothalamus gland by waking it up with a massive thermogenic effect.

While there is a ton of science and research behind it, it is still under scrutiny to this day. Some think it's extreme, but I really think cutting out your stomach is extreme, not to mention cutting open your chest  and breaking your sternum to get to your major valve.

Before I get off topic here, I say all of that to say this; the body, no matter whose body we are looking at or talking about, needs nutrients, and the modern day diet in America isn't enough. The average American diet meets the following criteria:

  1. English muffins or toast in the morning and bottled orange juice loaded with sugar
  2. Fast food lunch washed down with a soda
  3. Fast food dinner with more greasy food and burgers that are made with beef loaded with hormones etc

How could this be good for anyone?

It isn't, and we are now hearing more about superbugs in the meat as a result. You can follow a bodybuilding plan, but the reality is that unless you eat whole foods, and put pure nutrition into the body, you won't be able to see and feel the changes that you want.

Here is a great infographic that spells out what the American diet looks like today:
If you look at this, and you can see what is represented here, you can see that the evidence is clear. The American diet leaves very little room for nutrition, and plenty of room for fat, calories, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and a myriad of other diseases.

What Female Bodybuilding Should Really Consist of

So, with nutrition being at the core of my beliefs about female bodybuilding, you should know that yes, I used to bodybuild, and no I didn't compete. In my mind it wasn't for show, although I have tossed around the idea about figure competing.

Bodybuilding for women needs to start with a proper education in nutrition, and this means a thorough assessment from a medical doctor that has a holistic view on your health and medication. If you haven't watched the film "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" on Netflix, I highly suggest you do.

You'll find that Dr. Joel Fuhrman is fantastic, and you should absolutely read his books! You can also check out the vitamin injections, weight management products, and supplementation you'll find when you go HERE

I hope that you found this helpful, and no, this wasn't intended to promote any bodybuilders. My point was to:
  • Get your attention
  • Make you think about what body building truly means (building the body from the inside out)
  • Give you some encouragement on how to feel better and look better as a result

Once you make these changes, you'll look and feel more vibrant too! So, go watch that movie, and research whole foods and start making a list you like. Feel free to email me or comment below and let me know what you are doing to feel better too!

Best Way to Lose Weight? Good Nutrition!

Chances are, you found this article because you were looking for the best way to lose weight. You may have tried eating less and exercising, or perhaps you started counting calories to lose weight but you don't really exercises all that much.

You may have joined Weight Watchers in the past, or any number of weight loss centers or programs, and yet the vicious cycle continues to go round. What do you do? Simply put it's time to get off of the roller coaster once and for all.

It's time for you to really grasp what the best way to lose weight really is, and it all starts in the kitchen. I am going to share with you WHY you could be hindering your own success when it comes to losing weight, and how you can change that for the better.

Best Way to Lose Weight is Easier Than You Thought

Did you know that the best way to lose weight is right within your own kitchen? No, it isn't a fad diet or program, but yet small changes you can make starting today.

I find that most women and men, are looking for the quickest way to lose weight, and if you are having problems with your health, I am not surprised that you want results as soon as possible. I think we all do in a world where food can be made in a flash, or we can just pull up to the ATM to get cash.

However, fast doesn't mean good, with anything in life. If you see that photo above with fried chicken, that is part of the problem. Fried foods are loaded with oils and fat, and the only benefit of eating like this is clogged arteries. No, this isn't really a benefit, but you get the point.

Replacing that same dish with baked chicken instead, and fresh steamed broccoli is better! Potatoes aren't bad for you, but if weight loss is your goal, and you are holding fat around the belly, buns, or thighs, then no grains and starches aren't for you.

Make sense?

So, aside from what you eat, how you can change the scope of your diet overall? Let's talk about some basic nutrition guidelines and what you need to focus on for weight loss.

Best Way to Lose Weight is Good Nutritional Supplementation

Okay, so now that we have covered making small changes over time in the kitchen, what can you do for better nutritional supplementation?

You can consume the following:
  • Women need Vitamin D, Magnesium, and Calcium daily
  • Women need Folic Acid, Vitamin B 12, B5, and Vitamin K (potassium)
  • Men need the same but in lesser amounts (zinc can be added here)

There are plenty of things we need, but these we need each day. The best way to lose weight is with the vitamins and minerals, and the changes in the kitchen will complete what you need for the day. Consuming the following foods will boost your vitamin C intake, and help you shed unwanted fat and pounds.

  1. Kale
  2. Spinach
  3. Carrot juice freshly pressed with a juicer
  4. Blueberries
  5. Raspberries
  6. Strawberries
  7. Romained lettuce

There are tons more you can consume to help you get the protein you need, and you can certainly get all you need from vegetables too. Just study them for yourself.

As you make these changes, focus on becoming a better you overall, and don't stop until you get the results you want. Your mental well-being is just as important as your physical, and they go hand in hand. This is why we call it personal development!

Are you ready to become a better you? If you want to learn more about the best way to lose weight, and you want top quality products to help you get there and to help you feel better, just go HERE right now!

Better Nutrition!

Better Nutrition Starts in the Kitchen

There is no doubt an argument that better nutrition starts in the kitchen. How do we know if we need a better option?

Truthfully, most Americans don't eat healthy at all, and truth be told, they could use a dramatic change from the lifestyle heavily laden with fast food. We all know it's laden with fat and calories, and if that weren't enough, you should check out the statistics on cancer, heart disease and diabetes in the US.

The numbers as opposed to other countries is staggering, wouldn't you say? I would, and no doubt that you have been thinking more about what you eat, otherwise you would NOT have come across this article.

What I do want you to know is that better nutrition is possible if you follow a few simple steps first, in order to start making your adjustment into a healthier lifestyle.

Simple Steps to Better Nutrition

So, what can help you create a better and healthier lifestyle

I usually tell most people it's a matter of making small changes over time. There is no way that you can go cold turkey and come out on the other side of this healthy, happy, and satisfied. If you gained weight quickly, you won't be taking it off quickly.

That is for sure. So, there are a few things you can to get to better nutrition do including:

  1. Eat smaller meals, eat more meals per day
  2. Instead of drinking soda, drink iced tea, coffee, or iced water
  3. Instead of snacking on candy bars or chips, try fruit even if it's sweeter

There are small changes like this that can help you start to shed a few pounds off the bat. While you will lose water at first, remember, retaining water is a nasty culprit to preventing you from losing weight.

Remember, you also need to get some exercise in, even if you just go for a walk. It's NOT hard to do and it's easy on the joints. No matter who you are, you will be able to walk, even for just a few minutes. The longer you have lived a sedentary lifestyle, the harder it is for you to get moving.

Always, always, check in with your doctor as they may help you monitor your progress. Don't be afraid to share your goals with them; this is your life.

Each step you take for eating better and exercising more will help you achieve a better lifestyle with better nutrition!
